Jennifer Ferdinandsen is an AFAA certified fitness instructor, personal trainer and kickboxing instructor. Her classes are energetic and fun! During her 12 year career in the fitness industry, Jennifer has continued her education through various workshops and certification programs including spinning, pilates & a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. She cares deeply about her students and it shows. As a Reiki II practitioner, Jennifer has experienced the body's powerful healing abilities. Her firm belief is that wellness and joy is everyone's birth right and she strives to educate her students and implement this principle in all of her classes!
Philosophy: As an instructor and trainer, Jennifer takes a whole-body approach toward fitness. She firmly believes that by focusing only on the physical body we are treating the symptoms of dis-ease rather than the cause. Her personal training sessions are geared toward the individual's goals, strengths & weaknesses. She counsels her clients on nutrition, and stress-management and incorporates strength training, core conditioning, yoga, aerobic conditioning & Reiki in her personalized sessions. Her goal is to educate her clients and empower them to help themselves.
Shannon Addis
Shannon has been a certified Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA since 2004. Most recently she became a certified Personal Trainer with AFAA. She continues her education through workshops including spin, pilates/core and kickboxing. She currently instructs Spin, Cardio Circuit/Boxing/Core and Weight Training. She is an avid runner and triathlete.
Training Philosophy - I love training people that really want to change their lives for the better. I believe you can achieve a better level of fitness with consistency rather than working to extremes.
Margaret Harris, MS
Has a Masters Degree from Wesleyan University, CT in Movement Studies and is currently completing another Masters in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University, PA. She maintains professional certifications as a Health/Fitness Instructor and Exercise Leader with the American College of Sports Medicine and Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Leader with AFAA.
During her 15+ years of experience in the Fitness Industry, she taught concurrently on the secondary and college level and presented nationally accredited workshops on the East Coast for certified instructors and instructor candidates. Classes in theory and the practice of training/conditioning as well as Pilates-based movement have been her focus at: Seton Hall University, NJ, Orange County Community College, NY, Sussex County Community College, NJ and at APEX Events for AFAA.
Maryann Ruby, MS
MaryAnn has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from Long Island University and a Masters Degree in Education from Banks Street college. She is a certified Clinical Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine. She has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group exercise leader and Stott Pilates instructor. In addition, MaryAnn has been a Primary Certification Examiner for the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, and is a former Adjunct Instructor of Physical Education for SUNY Orange County Community College. MaryAnn is the owner/Director of Bodies In Balance.
Training Specialties: Pilates based core strength training, functional movement and joint mobility, balance, stability, coordination and agility.
Training Philosophy: Exercise takes time and is not always easy, but lifestyle changes are absolutely possible when you have help, a positive outlook and a sense of humor. I am here to help us stay physically strong, flexible, well and confident in our ability to move and have active healthy lives. Exercise is essential and can be creative, challenging and FUN.
Linda Quinn, MS
Linda has a Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology with a primary focus on cardiac rehabilitation. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Biology. Linda is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Health Fitness Specialist.
Since 1997, she has been in the fitness industry and has successfully completed certifications with AFAA including Personal Training, Primary Aerobics, and Kickboxing. In addition, Linda completed certifications with Resist-a-ball, Silver Sneakers, and Madd Dog Spinning.
Linda is currently working as an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science department at East Stroudsburg University. She teaches undergraduate classes, laboratories, and workshops preparing college students for a career in Exercise Physiology.
Through aggressive academic studies, Linda is able to stay informed with the latest research relating to exercise physiology and applied kinesiology. With experience working in the clinical setting, Linda views exercise as critical in the reduction of risk factors associated with cardiac disease. While viewing each client as a unique individual, she can create a variety of personal programs including reduction of risk factors, weight control, and sport specific training. This experience and education will enhance and facilitate workouts, maximize results and promote better health.
Scott Aronin, MS
Scott has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Columbia University. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has Yoga certification training from the Seva and Spiritual Lifestyle Programs,Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and has completed the Bally's personal training program.
Training Specialties: Total body strength and weight training, injury prevention and posture correction, core strength and balance, athletic performance, yoga and meditation.
Training Philosophy: "With proper training and motivation you are capable of so much more than you think. I have worked with people who were very surprised at their success in weight loss, strength gains, pain reduction, flexibility and more.
